On step 5, when I clicked on the "miscellaneous" button, the window that opened did not contain the box for "Turn protection on for my Symantic product" as the instructions said would be at the bottom of the right pane.

This was the very last thing I had to do in the 3 pages of instructions. So it seems that unless I "turn on" the protection, which I cannot do, I will be unable to use LiveUpdate.

There was a second solution suggested in case the above one didn't work it was an autofix and it seemed at the very least to download and install protection and latest definitions.
